Patriot BioEnergy, LLC was formed in February 2009 to develop integrated energy projects for domestically-produced transportation fuel and electricity from biomass.  The integrated energy plant will utilize biomass feedstock derived from sweet sorghum and cellulosic material to produce clean bio-fuels and green electricity.

A unique part of the business model for Patriot BioEnergy is to provide assistance to the coal industry to increase the competitiveness of coal as a part of a balanced energy approach.  By developing post-mining property for the growth of biomass feedstock, Patriot BioEnergy will ensure that coal continues to be a vital part of the local Kentucky economy and a part of the balanced energy solution for American energy security and independence.
